BOPP films produced by Polo Films® are distributed into the following families:
Clear – Flat and Coextruded, Metallized, Opaque and Matte
- Plan clear films are basically composed of 100% PP homopoly resin in all its layers.
They are given a surface treatment* in one or two sides in order to improve printing capabilities (ink, lacquer or adhesive anchoring). It is mainly used as a base for the application of adhesive in case sealing tapes (adhesive tapes). They can also be used in other applications in composition with other substrates, such as packing for coffee, candies, easter eggs and chocolates.
- Coextruded clear films are composed of differentiated PP resins in their layers, with the purpose to provide, especially, sealing properties to flexible packing They are also given surface treatment in one or two layers in order to enable printing and lamination.
They are mainly used as monolayer with grosser thickness or laminated with two or more low-thickness films such as flexible packing for snacks, crackers or dry pasta. They can also be used without printing for closing and sealing packs of cigarettes, CDs DVDs and bonbon boxes and even in inside packing of biscuits (3x1 packing).
- Metallized films are composed of resins differentiated in their layers and they are given a very thin coat of metal (aluminum), in order to provide better protection against moisture, gases, light and they feature a distinct look. It is used as monolayer or laminate with two or more films as flexible packing for: snacks, biscuits, cereal bars, dehydrated soups, powdered milk, labels, etc.
- Opaque films are composed of differentiated PP resins and additives providing low-density characteristics (high yield per sq m) and pearled and/or metallized white aspect. It is used in monolayer or laminate with flexible packing for chocolates, labels, biscuits, and ice cream, among others.
- Matte films are composed of differentiated resins in their layers that provide brightness and differentiated-touch (velvety) characteristics. It is used in the lamination of flexible packing for snacks, biscuits, coffee, toilet soaps, and for lamination on cardboard, such as book and leaflet covers and graphic applications in general.

* There are two types of surface treatment:
Corona Treatment, where an electric shock is applied on the film surface modifying its characteristics and providing printing or laminating capabilities;
Flame Treatment, or gas treatment that also modifies the BOPP film surface making it totally suitable for printing, coating (with adhesives) lamination and metallization applications.
